Project Summary:
OBIRODH will provide support to activities aimed at fostering an inclusive and tolerant Bangladesh. This project will be based in Dhaka. This position is open to local nationals.

Position Summary:
The Database and IT Specialist will serve as the lead database and technology expert and participate in and lead technological innovation, improvement, and management, as well as periodically supersive staff on technological roles. The position provides key support to the Chief of Party (COP) on all management areas under her/his direct supervision. S/he will also collaborate with international colleagues, technical personnel, subcontractors and international partner organizations, and local governmental partners.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain structural integrity of OBIRODH project tools for the collection and management of information.
- Maintain structural integrity of IT systems and OBIRODH project server.
- Maintain and operate office equipment; serve as an IT generalist and troubleshoot day-to-day office IT issues to assist with IT related problems including internet outages and computer troubleshooting.
- Liaise with the MSI Home Office IT department when necessary in order to create new email addresses and procure any Information and Communication Technology as needed.
- Gather IT requirements from users, and develop solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Develop a service plan to improve users' technology skills, which will include training users as needed.
- Conduct periodic trainings for MSI headquarters and field office staff in the use and maintenance of OBIRODH data collection and management systems.
- Assist operations manager with developing IT solutions to support operations and reporting requirements as needed.
- Design electronic filing systems for the project in coordination with the COP and the operations manager.
- Ensure that project files and data are regularly backed up.
- Ensure security cameras are functioning in and around the project office.
- Ensure staff compliance with OBIRODH Information Security Manual and update the manual as needed.
- Actively contribute to information sharing within the OBIRODH Project.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the COP and the operations manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related technical fields; master's degree preferred.
- At least four (4) years of experience in leading teams to develop data and information management systems for public and governmental use.
- Proven ability and experience working with database development and information management.
- Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfill the required technical and managerial responsibilities.
- Strong networking skills and the ability to work across key sectors in the development of a database and information management system.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bengali is required.
