Purpose of the Assignment

Assignment Tasks

  • Each of the 10 Field Emergency Site Coordinators function as UNICEF focal point in each of the 10 following sites identified: a) Leda/Sabrang b) Nayapara c) Balukhali TT NN; Jamtoli & Thangkhali; d) Unchiprang-Roikhong e) Hakimpara f) Burmapara g) Kutapalong AA BB CC DD & OO Kutapalong Make shift

    h) Kutapalong EE FF GG HH i) Kutapalong II KK LL & JJ MM Balukhali Make Shift j) Shamlapur/Marine drive.

  • Attends and stimulates coordination meetings at camp -section level and share key information to field coordinators and field sectors focal points.
  • Develop and maintain good working relations with camps management focal points, military, NGOs and community leaders at camp/site levels
  • Produce mapping of camp/sections, identifying and recording with GPS all relevant UNICEF facilities across sectors.
  • Supports UNICEF field monitoring team’s regular activities in respective camps and facilitates field visits of other UNICEF teams, Donors, and other delegations.
  • Celebrate bi-weekly coordination meetings with all UNICEF implementing partners present at site level to identify potential areas for integration, as well as challenges and viable solutions.
  • Immediately reports to field coordinators and field sectors focal points on urgent problems with partners, and bottlenecks related to PCAs roll out implementation and other relevant issues.
  • Identify additional needs and flag them for subsequent sectors interventions.
  • Follow up on security issues at camp/section level and refers to field coordinators eventual problems.
  • Write weekly reports on UNICEF presence in their camp/section, highlighting news, challenges and recommendations.
  • Education

    Advanced University degree inSocial Sciences or any other relatedfield.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional work experience in the UN or other international development organization, national government and NGO.
  • Familiarity and experience in WASH emergency preparedness and response in Bangladesh and proper understanding of humanitarian architecture in the country.
  • Familiarity with Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) cluster approach and standards for humanitarian response.
  • Experience working on development of sector strategies, guidelines and funding proposal for programme implementation in developing countries.
  • Language Proficiency

    Fluency in English and knowledge of local language (Bangla) will be an added advantage.
