We are looking for our delegation in Bangladesh for a
Logistics Officer - JPO
Position Start Date: 20th of May 2018
Duration: 3 months
Location: Cox’s Bazar - Bangladesh

Contractual conditions:
Expatriate contract under Swiss labour code 2’200 CHF (~1’900 €) <> 2’400 CHF (2’100 €)net /month x 13 times (+ Withholding AVS candidate for Switzerland). Vacancy: 25 days/year + 10 days RnR, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, location, return flight. Hardship bonus.
Context:
Following the massive displacement of more than 600 000 people into Bangladesh since end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on health and nutrition, WASH and protection. To date, Tdh is running a team of 15 expats and over 220 national staff.
Fonction details:
Working under the direct supervision of the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics officer main tasks will be:
1. Logistical Management
Logistical management of Mission premises:
Oversee the furnishings of premises (offices and guesthouses);
Supervise maintenance and repairs of premises;
Provision and replenishing of office supplies:
Identify needs in stationery and office supplies;
Establish a follow-up procedure for the stationery store;
Undertake purchases and storage of supplies;
Financial Management:
- Support the provision of documentary justification of expenses to the Finance Department;
2. Procurement, Stock Management and Suppliers
Database of Local Suppliers:
- Support the setting up and maintenance of a database of local suppliers, detailing criteria of quality, price, service, ethics etc;
Follow up of Procurement Procedures, conforming to procurement guidelines :
Undertake quotations or support launch of Calls for Tender;
Purchase goods, draft contracts;
Receive merchandise and oversee the customs procedures for imported goods;
Check the condition and nature of goods received as required by the contracts;
Support the presentation, circulation, filing and archiving of procurement documents, conforming to procedures;
SupportManagement of Stocks and Supplies:
Identify warehouses for storages, ensure premises are furnished and made secure for use;
Follow up tools for stock management;
Undertake periodic inventories;
Asset management
Manage stock movements and distributions of goods in the framework of project implementation;
3. Management of the Vehicle Pool and Transportation
SupportManagement of the Vehicle Pool and transport management
4. Facilitate implementation of projects in the field
Follow up of contractors with programme team
Work on identifying suppliers and contractors and casual labour for quick implementation
Ensure work is implemented and followed up as planned and in a timely manner
Support qualitative works when it comes to construction and/or retrofitting
Ensure activities can be carried out during rainy season through careful planning, movements of staff and goods, etc.
Profile:
Education: Professional diploma or university degree is a Logistics field (supply, IT, mechanic…)
Language: Excellent oral and writing skills in English C2
Experiences and aptitudes:
Advance IT knowledge (hardware and software, Microsoft Office, Internet)
Previous experience with an NGO in a difficult context
Previous experience in emergency response is appreciated
Knowledge of international humanitarian response and development work
Excellent written and spoken English (French is not required)
Knowledge of major donors procedures is an asset
