Bangladesh: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Lead, Rohingya Response

The role:

As lead of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) overall responsibility of this role is providing strategic and operational leadership to support the implementation of MHPSS activities within Rohingya Response program across Child Protection, Health and Nutrition. S/he will design MHPSS programme plans and budgets as well as coordinate with concern programme teams to integrate through-out ongoing projects. The position will oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities as well as donor reporting. S/he will also lead MHPSS related technical assessments in coordination with other thematic areas and/or other external sector agencies, ensure assessment findings are documented and all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs; develop and implement Quality Benchmarks in line with sector standards. Other responsibilities of this position includes, on site coaching and capacity building of MHPSS team; support interagency coordination forum to advocate for the specific needs of children; contribute towards an overall thematic programme plan and master budget and set up and supervise MHPSS MEAL system.

Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 7 years’ experience of implementing psychosocial programs preferably in humanitarian settings including substantial period of management experience
  • S/he is expected to have thorough understanding on community based psychosocial support, familiarity with IASC MHPSS guideline and demonstrated experience of supervising and managing others
  • Experience in overseeing program implementation, quality and development
  • Experience of managing multiple donors including budget management
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment, maintain a positive team dynamic, excellent interpersonal-skills/ ability to represent the organization with local authorities and community leaders.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken ability in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are other pre-requisites
  • Master’s Degree preferably in Psychology or Clinical Psychology. Considering quality experience education may relaxed.

Contract length: 6 months with possibility of extension
Job Location: Cox’s Bazar
