The purpose of the Site Management Support Coordinator position is to implement the delegated Site Management Support project portfolio.
Job description
- Under the supervision of the SMS PM, line management of SMS project field staff
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
- Contribute to SMS strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps
- Manage and implement delegated portfolio of SMS projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from the SMS PM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality
- Provide regular progress reports to the SMS PM
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
- Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
- Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders; represent NRC in other relevant forums
- Promote the rights of refugees in line with the advocacy strategy
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years working in an implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context, preferably in a camp setting;
- Higher education, preferably in social science or related fields;
- Strong inter-personal skills, working well both in teams and independently;
- Excellent team management skills;
- Able to work under pressure and good at timely decision making;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft package; Mobile data collection apps).
- Good understanding of information management systems, tools and methodologies in a humanitarian setting;
- Previous experience in managing community-based interventions, preferably in camp settings;
- Previous experience working closely with and supporting the Government authorities;
- Willingness to travel to the field daily and work in a potentially insecure environment;
- Previous experience in the Rohingya response is an advantage;
- Experience with programme start-up;
- Excellent written and spoken Bangla;
- Oral proficiency in Chittagonian and/or Rohingya desirable.

We offer
- Commencement: November 2018
- Duration: initially 6 months, possibility of extending (dependent on funding)
- Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions and free housing of moderate standard.
- Grade 7 in the NRC grade structure
- Duty station: Ukhiya (Cox’s Bazar District), with daily commute to/from Cox’s Bazar Town
- Approved health certficate will be requested before contract start.
