CARE is a leading international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, proactive individual to strengthen design, development and technical impacts of Gender and GBV interventions to ensure maximum impact.

The Coordinator is a core member of the county office program team and significantly contributes to the development of CARE’s programs, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior level gender advice and support to project teams, partners and senior management

• Direct staff management of a small team and capacity development of the gender technical team

• Foster and organise collaboration within the Remote Ethnic Minority (REW), Marginalised Urban Women (MUW) and program quality teams

• Provide technical quality oversight of Gender and GBV strategies and materials

• Develop innovative Gender and GBV M&E tools in line with CARE International outcomes and impact measurements

• Provide gender technical advice in proposal development and lead GBV focussed proposal development

• Deliver key strategic contribution to CARE Laos’s long term programming and future Gender and GBV programming direction

Ideally you will have

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field e.g. Gender Studies and significant experience and skills in the management of people and development programming with an international NGO

• Technical knowledge and experience in the implementation of transformative gender approaches, complex gender analysis and advocacy related to gender issues and GBV

• High level strategic thinking and experience in the design, development and implementation of program strategies and complex project interventions

• Ability to design and develop monitoring and evaluation systems, experience in managing and conducting field evaluations and impact measurement

• Demonstrated experience in capacity development and skills-transfer to local organisations and on-the-Job training for staff
