Deliver great technology that matters.
Simprints empowers the existing mobile tools that governments and development organizations are already using to deliver essential services at the frontlines. Our goal is to radically disrupt the inaccurate way we currently track and deliver progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, and instead build a world where every person counts in the fight against poverty. Since August 2016, we have launched projects in Bangladesh, Nepal, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Malawi, and Ethiopia that collectively have reached over 90,000 beneficiaries. This is just the beginning. We are rapidly extending our reach, implementing projects across sectors and geographies, aiming to impact over 250,000 lives by the end of the year and 4 million lives by the end of 2019. As part of our growth plans, we are opening our first Regional Hub in Dhaka, Bangladesh, so this is an exciting time to join Simprints!
Overview
The Regional Project Manager, South Asia is a key hire for the region. You will be based in Dhaka and report directly to the Regional Director, South Asia, with strong support and alignment with our global Project Operations team in the UK. Your responsibilities will be based around the overarching objective of scaling up the deployment of Simprints technology across the South Asia region, with specific focus on managing and leading our flagship scale-up project in partnership with BRAC to ensure a successful outcome.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with our partners in developing countries. You are forward-thinking, deeply collaborative, a quick learner, and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. From one day to the next, you might be developing a training curriculum for community health workers in urban communities in Bangladesh, or coordinating the logistics of a two-person team to the remote hills of Western Nepal. This is a great opportunity for someone with the right skillset and ambition to take on significant responsibility from day one.
What are your responsibilities?
Oversee our projects across South Asia from start to finish, including preparation of pre-deployment materials, coordinating logistics, and conducting on-the-ground training and support.
Manage deliverables of several ongoing responsibilities, such as scopes of work and client impact reports.
Closely monitor project statuses, investigate any significant issues reported by clients, and provide effective and timely action.
Build and manage strong relationships with our clients through regular feedback calls with key stakeholders, from HQ managers to users of our technology.
Actively support our Research, Sales, and Partnerships teams on projects-related assignments, providing material for grants, sales, and marketing initiatives.
Provide leadership and strategic insights from the field on scaling our operations worldwide.
What skills do you need?
At Simprints you will be working within a cross-functional team of passionate engineers and development professionals focused on different aspects of designing our solutions and deploying them in the field. Therefore, a deep-rooted commitment to collaborative problem solving, robust data-driven insights, and high quality communications is critical. Past experience with the requirements below, and the genuine desire to develop world-class skills, are the ideal fit. You either have the skills outlined below, or you are willing to learn them quickly.
Technical Skills:
Managing complexity. You have minimum three years of strong project and program management experience working end-to-end on large, complex projects/programs, ideally with an understanding of development workflow and use of technology solutions such as mobile data collection platforms in frontline contexts. You should be excited about traveling on deployments and working closely with our partners on a range of projects.
Attention to detail and proactive implementation. You understand there are countless challenges in international development, and deep attention to detail matters to make projects work. You have a proven track record of ‘getting things done’ with strong attention to detail and data-driven decision making.
High prioritisation and organisational skills. You understand time is our most valuable resource and can manage it strategically to achieve maximum impact for our beneficiaries.
Inspiring communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bengali, with the ability to craft precise and compelling stories in both presentation and written formats.
Excellent training skills. We work across multiple sectors and train a wide variety of stakeholders. You need to be able to tailor trainings for different settings, audiences, and use cases, and explain how Simprints adds value in different projects. You can actively listen and convey expectations, plans, and outcomes effectively.
Human Skills:
Problem-solving. You have distinctive problem solving skills and good judgment. You proactively find challenges and offer creative ways to address them.
Empathy. You can listen closely to both our partners and our beneficiaries and care deeply about real impact.
Communication. You are able to collaborate and articulately communicate concepts, ideas and decisions effectively across many levels, and build strong interpersonal relationships with engineers, operational managers, and external stakeholders.
Grit. You have a hands-on, can-do attitude and have the drive to dig deep into problems to discover pain points and features from multiple perspectives, and resilience to stay focused on a project to the end.
Learning. You love learning new things, are able to think on your feet, and can pick up new tools and methods quickly.
Passion. If building technology that works in the fight against global poverty sounds exciting, we want to meet you.
