Chemonics seeks a private sector engagement component lead for the five-year Feed the Future Bangladesh Agricultural Growth Activity. This $10 to 25 million activity will be closely linked with other Feed the Future activities. The activity’s purpose is to increase the effective management of Bangladeshi businesses in private sector agriculture while increasing business engagements at the farmer level. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaise with the private sector to develop strategies for increased competitiveness
- Oversee market studies and end-market analysis to explore opportunities for diversification and market expansion
- Work with private sector partners to explore innovative solutions to improving supply chain efficiency and profitability
- Explore opportunities for introducing technologies such as improved packaging and processing methods
- Engage with private sector trade associations and industry groups to improve services to their memberships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in rural and agricultural development, business and marketing, international trade, economics, social sciences, international development, or another relevant field
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in economic development and private sector engagement
- Demonstrated experience in engaging the private sector to develop inclusive and efficient supply chains
- Experience in increasing capacity of businesses to compete in regional and global markets
- Knowledge of marketing and branding strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work in challenging environments and with multicultural teams
- Ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external relationships with stakeholders, partners, and staff
- Working knowledge of and experience with multilateral and bilateral regulations and procedures
- Work experience in South Asia or Bangladesh preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluent written and spoken English required
