CSI Organizational Profile
Center for Social Integrity (CSI) is a non-religious, non-political, non-profit organization established in 2016 to respond to the need for Myanmar people to strengthen and promote a culture of social cohesion, peace building, protection and ability to tackle humanitarian crisis. It later expanded to Bangladesh and broadened its scope to include the plight of refugee communities outside of Myanmar.
The CSI-Bangladesh mission was launched in September 2017 in response to the influx of Rohingya refugees into Cox’s Bazar District and currently encompasses projects focused on community-based protection and education. Programmatic activities rely upon CSI’s network of 74 refugee volunteers who spearhead implementation of projects supporting the rehabilitation and resilience of Rohingya refugees.
Job purpose
The Role
To support the Program Manager (PM) to develop, oversee and strengthen the program through participating in assessment, coordination, monitoring and evaluation activities, and general situation analysis in the project area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overview
• Coordinate with the Program Manager and Program Assistant to oversee day-to-day progress toward project goals and desired programmatic outcomes
• To assist in in-country grant administration as directed by the PM.
• To assist in the development of funding proposals for approval as required by the PM and CSI Head Office.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by supervisors
• Adhere to CSI’s policies and procedures
• Represent CSI positively and professionally both internally and externally
Donor and Partner-related activity
• Support the day-to-day monitoring of grants, contracts and expenditures according to work plans agreed by the PM
• Provide support to the PM and CSI Head Office/Grants & Partnerships Coordinator in identifying and collecting information on possible future donors and funding opportunities to support CSI-Bangladesh activities.
• Assist in the planning and hosting of program visits by CSI staff, donors and partner agencies.
Information Management
• Review and maintain systems for recording program activities and outputs.
• Provide relevant materials, case studies, photographs, events and media contacts in line with CSI’s organizational profile, identity and message as directed by the PM and in coordination with CSI Head Office.
• Liaise with CSI Head Office to ensure that required general program and country data is communicated effectively.
• Establish appropriate internal reporting formats and ensure effective internal information flows.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
• Work closely with the PM and CSI Head Office and provide facts/data/findings within various aspects of monitoring and evaluation of quantitative and qualitative inputs and outputs.
• Assist in compiling M&E reports collaborating with the PM, and Grants & Partnerships Coordinator at CSI Head Office.
Program Planning
• Support the PM as required in the planning and implementation of program activities, research and events within the program area.
• Assist in the process of national staff capacity building, identifying training needs and providing mentoring support where appropriate.
Qualifications
§ Graduate degree in international relations, development studies, peace studies, international law, political science or a related field.
§ 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in peacebuilding, political or developmental work. Field experience is a major advantage.
§ Excellent written and spoken English.
§ Good research and organizational skills.
§ Strong interest in and knowledge of peacebuilding, human rights, protection, post-conflict settings.
§ Sound judgment, discretion, resourcefulness and good interpersonal skills are prized attributes.
§ Ability to take initiative and work within deadlines.
