Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Bangladesh Agricultural Infrastructure Development Program II (BAIDP II). Valued between $10-25 million, the purpose of this activity is to upgrade priority infrastructure in targeted rural farming communities by improving horizontal infrastructure (roads and irrigation and drainage systems) and vertical infrastructure [markets, collection centers and cold storage], to Increase farmer access to markets and Improve agricultural production within 21 districts in Bangladesh. BAIDP II is designed to improve access to rural markets and input supplies, lower transportation costs and crop loss, and increase trade volume thereby contributing to USAID’s Development Objective (DO) 2 “Food Security Improved.” The chief of party will be based in Dhaka with regional travel as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction, ensuring a common vision across different components and actors
  • Supervise technical and administrative staff Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, the host-country government, and local and regional partners
  • Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound, appropriate, and aligned with the program’s long-term vision
  • Oversee work planning, performance management, and strategic communications

Position Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Civil Engineering, International Development, or related field
  • At least 10 years of senior management experience with a donor, contractor or international NGO, managing an office or program of similar size
  • At least 10 years of experience in international development, agriculture, food security, irrigation/water infrastructure or related field, particularly in South Asia
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated supervisory experience, including management of a team of at least 10 people, experience with remote supervision/management preferred
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing, managing and/or leading monitoring and evaluation processes, previous experience managing grants under contract a plus
  • Experience in South or Southeast Asia required; experience in Bangladesh is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with USAID operating procedures, regulations, and reporting requirements preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
