Established in 1965, URC offers a range of technical assistance to strengthen health and social systems and service quality by empowering communities and health workers to identify and scale up locally appropriate solutions to critical problems. URC focuses on finding ways to deliver proven approaches to health care problems, applying quality improvement (QI) methods and conducting operations research to tailor those approaches to various settings. Recognizing implementation barriers unique to each setting, we train local managers and service providers to strengthen health systems, integrate system elements, and bring improvements to scale.

Roles and Responsibilities

URC seeks a Chief of Party (COP) to lead an anticipated $24.5 million USAID award for Feed the Future in Bangladesh, for the duration of 5 years. The Chief of Party (COP) will be responsible for overall program management, including providing leadership to ensure that the program meets its goals and objectives, and identifying and mitigating program risks. The COP will serve as the principal representative of the program to USAID, partners, and other stakeholders.

· Alongside USAID/Bangladesh, participate in the joint development of work plans and scopes of work for the anticipated activity

· Provide strategic input for program design and implementation

· Serve as the principal liaison in developing relationships with USAID/Bangladesh as well as other partners

· Oversee project implementation in accordance with the project budget

· Fulfill reporting requirements with USAID as well as URC

· Supervise and manage local staff/project teams

· Manage recruitment along guidelines set out by USAID and URC

Minimum Qualifications

· Advanced degree (post-graduate or higher) in public health, agriculture, nutrition, health sciences, or other relevant fields.

· A total of at least 10 years including:

o At least 2 years prior experience as Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party on similar international donor-funded programs in high-stress complex countries; and,

o At least 7 years of experience with agricultural and/or nutritional programming.

o At least 5 years of experience in a developing country, preferably in Bangladesh.

· Demonstrated ability to advise host country officials at the ministerial level, and create and maintain effective working relationships with international and local stakeholders, NGOs, local partners, and U.S. Government agencies; and,

· Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and representation skills.

· Fluency in spoken and written English, proficiency in Bengali preferred.

· Ability to travel within Bangladesh
