The Opportunity:
As the Emergency Response Manager (ERM) you will lead and manage the Response Team in Cox’s Bazar and associated emergency projects and be the interface between the Emergency Response Office and the Country Director. As the leader of theresponse, you will be accountable for developing, coordinating and managing all emergency activities, ensuring quality and effectiveness. You will manage a team comprising technical specialists and support staff.
As ERM you will be expected to provide strategic leadership in all areas of emergency programming and support strengthen the country office’s overall capacity to respond to emergencies in accordance with accepted principles and practices. As a member of the Country Management Team (during the period of response), you will be expected to actively contribute to the overall governance of the country programme.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed as ERM you will need demonstrable, relevant humanitarian aid experience, gained working in complex refugee and natural disaster contexts.
Experience in managing large multi-million programmes that are supported by a diverse donor portfolio
Demonstrable experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult circumstances.
High level of expertise in representation and negotiation with governments and donors. As well as strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, including Sphere, the humanitarian system, donors, security, civil military liaison and program management
