Purpose of the assignment:

To provide support to BCO HIV Programme team, Cox’s Bazar Health Section Team and partners to plan, implement and monitor comprehensive HIV services in Cox’s Bazar including PMTCT and adolescent HIV programming.

The specific objectives include:

  • Support assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of PMTCT services at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, Ukhya Health Complex and camp health centers by UN agencies.

  • Support planning, implementation and monitoring of adolescent HIV programming integrating mainstream proramme of CP, C4D, Health and others
  • How can you make a difference?

    Major Tasks and responsibilities:

    End production/ deliverable

    Organize launching of PMTCT intervention in CXB Sadar Hospital

  • Review and signature of proposal and budget
  • Recruitment of implementation team
  • Launching of HTC and other services
  • Report on process documentation of launching of PMTCT intervention

    Organize launching of PMTCT intervention in Ukhiya Health Complex

  • Review and signature of proposal and budget
  • Recruitment of implementation team
  • Launching of HTC and other services
  • Report on process documentation of launching of PMTCT intervention at Ukhiya Health Complex

  • Organize and conduct four (two in CXB and two in Ukhiya Health Complex) daylong orientation sessions for health care providers on treatment, care and support services inclusive of PMTCT, ART, HTC, UP, PEP
  • Comprehensive training report on orientation events

  • Establish and maintain liaison with all local level stakeholders (GO, NGO, INGO) for making treatment, care and support services effective
  • Organize orientation for key health care providers from other relevant implementing partners on treatment, care and support services
  • Stakeholders’ sensitization report

  • Provide technical inputs for modification and facility-based implementation of protocols and tools for PMTCT and ART intervention with implementing partners
  • Protocols modification/ dissemination workshop report

  • Organize and conduct two training sessions (one each in CXB Sadar Hospital and Ukhiya Health Complex) on PMTCT for physicians
  • Training report

  • Organize and conduct two (one each in CXB Sadar Hospital and Ukhiya Health Complex) training sessions on HTC for nurses/midwives/health assistants/FWVs
  • Training report

  • Organize and conduct two (one each in CXB Sadar Hospital and Ukhiya Health Complex) training sessions on ART for physicians
  • Training report

  • Provide technical inputs to the implementing team for strengthening HIV services inclusive of PMTCT in CXB Sadar Hospital and Ukhiya Health Complex
  • Introduce record keeping and reporting system into DHIS2
  • Provide periodic monitoring and supportive supervision to the implementing team and ensure team coherence
  • Coordinate closely with other UNICEF supported interventions to reap the mutual benefits for service recipients
  • Coordinate with SHS intervention of CMCH and HIV section of UNICEF Dhaka office for efficient and quality service delivery
  • Technical report on strengthening and mainstreaming of HIV services inclusive of ART and PMTCT

  • Capture case studies for documentation and educational purpose in case of both host community and Rohingya influx
  • Qualitative case studies

  • Capture key lessons, challenges and recommendations in detail
  • Final consultancy report

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

    Qualifications (Education, Work Experience, Special skills and/or knowledge, Competencies required for the assignment):

  • Advanced University degree in public health, or related field, technical knowledge in clinical management of HIV/AIDS in women and children will be an advantage
  • Employment experience: a minimum of seven (07) years professional experience in HIV&AIDS / Reproductive Health/Maternal Health programming and management
  • Experience on HIV/AIDS treatment, care, PMTCT will be an excellent advantage
  • Experience of working with multi-partner, GoB counterpart is a necessary requirement
  • Familiarity with Other skills and attributes: Analytical skill, good communication skills, experience in data collection and analysis, advocacy skills, report writing skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English
