Muslim Aid is a UK-based relief & development organisation established in 1985. It has country offices in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia and Sudan. We have been working in Bangladesh since 1991, with a country office in Dhaka, branch offices around the country and approximately 220 staff.
Are you an established Country Director or aspiring Country Director who can contribute to and implement our global strategy? Can you provide vision and strategic direction to our work in country? We need someone with experience of responding to humanitarian situations, of delivering long term development programmes, of building external relationships, and of influencing and engaging with government and donor institutions . This is a challenging role responsible for providing strategic direction and effective management of the country office. You will ensure the continued improvement in quality and impact of programmes and effective financial and human resource management.
We are seeking an outstanding and distinctive individual who can demonstrate strategic and creative leadership, management and coordination skills in a network setting, a multi-cultural worldview, a solid understanding of gender in development, and an understanding of the systemic challenges and strengths of working in a global organisation. We are looking in particular for someone who is good at building and managing relations at the highest level. Excellent communication skills, and fluency of English, are essential.
