MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Child Protection in Emergency (CPiE) strategic lead to implement timely and appropriate CPiE response.
Support M&E to plan and conduct internal initial rapid assessment /represent World Vision and contribute to inter-agency assessment processes.
Design of CPiE program based on needs assessment findings of secondary and/ or primary data) and analysis that reach out to the most vulnerable children and develop and implement detailed CPiE plan.
Develop CPiE procurement plan and provide technical support to Programme Officers (for) or develop CPiE proposals, budget for donor submission.
Facilitate mainstreaming of Child Protection into other sectors.
Provide technical support for CPiE staff recruitment and partner selection, CPiE supervision and capacity building through training and on job coaching.
Support CPiE staff recruitment /partner selection and build their capacity through training and on job coaching.
Coordinate, represent World Vision and contribute to the Child Protection response coordination system with UN agency or government and INGOs.
Guide the overall response in managing Child Protection information and CPiE response according to internal and external minimum standards and use assessment and other general trend data and information about children for advocacy with donors and other decision makers according to child information management Inter-agency Minimum.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have at least a Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant field.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in humanitarian related work.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
- Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
- Strong competency in proposal & report writing, monitoring and budgeting skills.
- Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs, donors and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
- Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
- Ability to live and work in difficult remote areas and travel extensively.
- Ability to maintain performance despite intense workload and work pace.
