We 're looking for a site Management :in Bangladesh :
Under the supervision of the Field Operations Director, you'll be responsible for supporting the relevant Bangladeshi authorities in the day-to-day management of Hakimpara camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar and supporting the implementation of coordination mechanisms and tools to ensure accessible services, fill gaps and avoid duplication. This entails building effective partnerships with a diversity of stakeholders at site level, ranging from duty bearers to other humanitarian partners, volunteer groups and the hosted population.
In addition, you'll undertake responsibility for supervising and managing the SM team and their activities. This includes a multi-sectoral/integrated approach to site management, Shelter, Health, nutrition, DRR preparedness, security, WASH, Food/NFI distributions, community Services and Protection.
Your principal tasks will be :
- to take care of management and Quality of the program
- to be responsible for administration and personnel Management, Finance and Logistics
- to be in charge of the representation
- As required, to participate in SM sector and/or other relevant coordination meetings or working groups;
- to be in charge of Security in the camp.
Your Profile :
You have an advanced degree in social sciences such as humanitarian affairs, development studies, political science, or a related field, and/or a field of study that offers a comprehensive view of community organization, planning and design (e.g. architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning) and/or or an equivalent combination of camp management and humanitarian experience in a related area.
You've minimum of 5 years of field experience in management or coordination role.
Moreover, you' ve a demonstrated field experience working in camps or other communal settings as well as Practical knowledge of the cluster approach and a strong interest and motivation in inter-agency coordination
Site Manager needs to works with maps and plan a site, architect, urban planner, designer, at least the candidate should know some mapping software.
Note that flexibility, diplomacy, leadership, cultural sensitivity and team-spirit are important personal features.
Context:
This position will be required to be about 75-80% on site in Hakimpara; only for coordination and sector meetings the persons will be in cox's Bazar. There is a team of 14 persons to handle all activities of the site management. The coordinator need to work very closely with IOM site management staff as well as with the government and in particular the Camp in Charge (CiC).
The scope of work for Site Manager is not just a some project with some distributions for example. We need a person that can visualize spaces in order to organize them and manage different organizations and authorities to deliver services in one confined space. It is more about planning a village or a city; not an activity or service delivery in that city .

The country's haor wetlands are of significant importance to global environmental science.
Bangladesh is now widely recognised to be one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. Natural hazards that come from increased rainfall, rising sea levels, and tropical cyclones are expected to increase as climate changes, each seriously affecting agriculture, water and food security, human health and shelter.
Bangladesh is prone to floods, tornados and cyclones. Also, there is evidence that earthquakes pose a threat to the country. It has been shown that rainy-season flooding in Bangladesh, on the world's largest river delta, can push the underlying crust down by as much as 6 centimetres, and possibly perturb faults.
Warm temperatures are found year-round throughout Bangladesh, with not much change, although January seems to be the coolest month (66° F/19° C) while May tends to be the warmest (84° F/ 29° C). Bangladesh has a tropical monsoon climate, with most of the rainfall for the year occurring during the monsoon period. The average precipitation ranges from as much as 200 inches (5,080 mm) to as little as 55 inches (1,400 mm).
