The Opportunity
As Humanitarian Advocacy Manager, you will dedicate 70% of your time to support the Cox’s Bazar programme, 30% of the time will support humanitarian advocacy across the Asia region.
You will support the Cox’s Bazar team to quickly develop and implement a humanitarian-response advocacy work-stream.
You will also act as Plan International’s lead on humanitarian-response advocacy on behalf of the Humanitarian Advocacy Working Group (HAWG), the Country Office and the Response Team.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed in this role you will require significant prior experience working in advocacy on humanitarian issues, child rights, human rights, or development issues, preferably in emergency response contexts or fragile states.
Experience of influencing and advocacy work including lobbying, policy development and information provision in humanitarian issues at national, regional and/or international level.
Excellent skills in advocating towards government officials, humanitarian actors and UN agencies in developing countries.
Experience of and strong skills in developing and implementing humanitarian advocacy strategies.
Extensive knowledge of child rights and international humanitarian law.
Understanding of UN and donor operations at country level and humanitarian response-planning cycles.
Experience in working with other NGOs and coordinating inter-agency advocacy activities, strategies and products

Type of Role: 1 year Fixed Term Contract
Location: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
Salary: Circa $50,000.00 per annum plus benefits
Reports to: Head of Influencing with functional reporting in to ERM in Cox’s Bazar
