For more than 30 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organisation committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 40 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.MdM France has launched an assessment in Bangladesh in December 2016 to explore the humanitarian situation in the country. MdM validated a gradual intervention in Bangladesh and the mission opened in February 2017 with a first team.
Regarding the actual need identified on the field by the first team present on the field, a project especially focused on access to mental health services (oriented on GBV) will be implemented soon.**

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the responsibility of the general coordinator, you are responsible for the following main activities in order to ensure the pertinence and the quality of the mental health activities.

More specifically, you:
-Conduct needs analysis and participate to MdM strategy of the new project
-Monitor the health situation
-Identify potential local partner in capacity to work with
-Identify HR needs, oversee recruitment and capacity building trainings
-Manage the mental health team
-Ensure quality of activities and follow up on protocols
-Ensure the quality of the mental health data collection and analyse
-Participate in external reporting according to donor/MdM requirements
-Participate in a pro-active way to MdM internal meetings and external meetings

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Status : Employee

Contract : Fixed-term contract

Duration : 3 months

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Psychologist with psychosocial and clinical experience
Significant experience in similar positions or in humanitarian sector
Knowledge of public health issues, in relation to mental health in humanitarian situation is an asset
Experience in project management is an asset
Proficiency in PC use and Word and Excel programs
Ability to take initiatives and quick decisions
Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability
Organizational skills
Good writing and communication skills
Languages: Fluent in English mandatory
