We work across all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. Since 1997 we have worked in over 100 countries for clients such as US government agencies, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and nonprofits.

Project Objective:

SI is responding to a Task Order under our ALME/RDMA contract. The purpose of this Task Order (TO) is to test and inform USAID the effectiveness of USAID Nurture’s interventions and intermediary outcomes against the Theory of Change, and also to determine the feasibility of scaling to additional geographic regions and populations within Laos.

Period of Performance:

This is a part-time position, and we are looking to hire ASAP. LOE is roughly as follows:

40 Days in 2017 (includes 8-10 days of fieldwork in Laos)

18 Days in 2018

18 Days in 2019

Responsibilities:

The Senior Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for providing technical guidance on nutrition-related components of the evaluation deliverables. They will draft nutrition-related elements of the design, survey and interview protocols, and will lead analysis of and reporting on WASH and nutrition indicators to feed into final deliverables. They will additionally lead enumerator training and help oversee preliminary data collection to provide guidance and oversight on measurement of key nutrition and WASH indicators. They will also contribute to qualitative data collection and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • At least Master’s Degree in relevant nutrition or public health field;
  • Experience conducting evaluations in the nutrition field;
  • Familiarity with nutrition indicators, sanitation indicators, and anthropometric measurements; ability to provide enumerator training on these metrics

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience with research at the intersection between nutrition and sanitation program;
  • Familiarity with the Laos government Asia regional, and U.S. Government’s initiatives/ guidance on nutrition and WASH
